SIP 2025 - IT Helpdesk Internship (Off Campus) at Kloud9

Kloud9 is a MSP who focuses on becoming an entire IT department for SMB in Ohio. We specialize in cloud and compliance services. We opened our doors in 2006, opened our office in Columbus in 2018, and started our security division in 2022. 

Note: In-person interviews will be conducted on Feb. 28, 2025, at West and Metro. These interview fairs are your only opportunity to meet and interview with hiring supervisors.

Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and tech-savvy IT Intern to join our dynamic Managed Service Provider (MSP) team. This internship offers hands-on experience in IT support, networking, and systems management in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. You will work alongside experienced technicians and engineers, gaining exposure to a wide range of technologies and client environments.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues for clients under supervision.
  • Provide first-level support by resolving basic technical problems and escalating complex issues to senior staff.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including software updates, backups, and system monitoring.
  • Assist with onboarding and configuring new devices such as desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
  • Learn and use ticketing systems to log and track support requests.
  • Support the setup and management of user accounts and permissions in Active Directory and other tools.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure IT services meet client expectations and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Participate in documenting processes, solutions, and technical guides for internal use.
  • Shadow senior technicians on client site visits and remote support sessions.
  • Stay current on emerging IT trends and technologies relevant to the MSP industry.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and common IT tools.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts such as IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs is a plus.
  • Strong interest in IT support, networking, or systems administration.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Eagerness to learn and take initiative in a professional setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with basic hardware setup and troubleshooting (e.g., desktops, printers, routers).
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems or IT service management tools.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Network+ (not required but a bonus).
  • Completed 9 months of IT program
  • Prefer interest networking or Cybersecurity, unsure is welcome as well

Program Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in current semester (Spring 2025)
  • Must enroll in a minimum of one Summer 2025 course
  • Must be returning to Tri-C for Fall 2025 Semester
  • Must have a declared major on record

This position is part of the Cuyahoga Community College Summer Internship Program.
