SIP 2025 - Naturalist Assistant (Off Campus) at Cleveland Metroparks
Cleveland Metroparks is a park district that takes pride in protecting nature, connecting communities, and inspiring conservation of our world. At 107 years old, the park district's 18 reservations, eight golf courses, and nationally acclaimed Zoo exist for all.
Note: In-person interviews will be conducted on Feb. 28, 2025, at West and Metro. These interview fairs are your only opportunity to meet and interview with hiring supervisors.
The Mobile Outreach Unit provides hands-on experience in serving underserved and underrepresented park guests. The intern will work closely with the staff to assist with the "Kids Nature Lunch & Learn," a summer program. This summer intern will help connect park guests to nature through lessons and activities while spending time outdoors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Interest in environmental interpretation, education, natural resources, wildlife management, or related field.
- ability to speak comfortably in front of groups of up to 15.
- willing and able to engage diverse audiences in outdoor education and activities .
- comfortable lifting/carrying at least 25 lbs.
- enjoys working outdoors.
- reliable transportation.
- ability to work in various weather conditions.
- ability to work cooperatively with others.

Program Requirements
- Must be enrolled in current semester (Spring 2025)
- Must enroll in a minimum of one Summer 2025 course
- Must be returning to Tri-C for Fall 2025 Semester
- Must have a declared major on record
This position is part of the Cuyahoga Community College Summer Internship Program.
