SIP 2025 - Accounting Intern (Off Campus) at CLE Consulting Firm
Professional services firm including accounting/bookkeeping, payroll, taxes, and business consulting.
Note: In-person interviews will be conducted on Feb. 28, 2025, at West and Metro. These interview fairs are your only opportunity to meet and interview with hiring supervisors.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining client records
- Reconcile Credit Card statements
- Generate weekly reports
- Bank reconciliations
- Preparation of and reviewing financial statements
- Will assist with the development of tax returns.
- Journal entries
- Bank reconciliations
- Handling Client questions
- Knowledge of bookkeeping and generally used accounting procedures
- Comfortable working in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Maintaining daily communication with the accounting staff.
- Schedule client meetings
- Communicating with clients as well as the accounting team
- Update client records and contact information
- Maintaining accounting records by making copies and filing documents
- Maintaining an organized and efficient filing of records.
- Entering data into accounting systems and updating various Excel spreadsheets
- Preparing and posting monthly close journal entries
- Assisting with monthly reporting packages, as required
- Creating reports as requested by Management
- Supporting accounting operations by filing documents, reconciling statements, and running software
programs. - Maintaining accounting databases by entering data into the computer and processing backups
Preferred Qualifications
- Bookkeeping Experience
- Secure working experience with QuickBooks accounting software
- Intermediate level experience using Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Nonprofit experience would be a bonus
- Payroll knowledge and experience
- Experience with accounts payable and receivable systems
- QuickBooks Online background

Program Requirements
- Must be enrolled in current semester (Spring 2025)
- Must enroll in a minimum of one Summer 2025 course
- Must be returning to Tri-C for Fall 2025 Semester
- Must have a declared major on record
This position is part of the Cuyahoga Community College Summer Internship Program.
