SIP 2025 - SAS Student Intern (East Campus) at Tri-C Student Accessibility Services

The responsibility of the Student Accessibility Services is to provide support services for students with disability here at the Eastern Campus. We support students with disabilities at any Tri-C campus, Common disability types include learning disabilities, sensory limitations, psychiatric conditions, physical mobility conditions, and chronic health issues. All matters related to a person’s disability are kept confidential. The department works directly with students at the Eastern Campus and indirectly with Counseling, Admissions, Student Success, Special Services, Student Support Services, Women in Transition (WIT), Early College, College Credit Plus (CCP), Career Centers, and other Academic areas 

Note: In-person interviews will be conducted on Feb. 28, 2025, at West and Metro. These interview fairs are your only opportunity to meet and interview with hiring supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Supports students registered with SAS, success activities
  • Provides leadership and assistance to New Student Orientation and Registration 
  • Provides assistance to peers in navigating campus services and enrollment processes at Tri-C 
  • Acquires familiarity with campus operations, facilities, student services and My Tri-C Space 
  • greets and assists students at key Student Services areas
  • conducting campus tours, and serving as host/hostesses at campus events and activities
  • Makes class visits as needed 
  • Makes phone calls to new, prospective, and current students (as needed) 
  • Provides overall excellent customer service to students and members of the community 
  • Special projects assigned by the SAS Team 
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (potentially including evenings and weekends)
  • Ability to organize work and set priorities within a general structure
  • Possess sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of a diverse population
  • Ability to confidentially and discreetly handle subject matters requiring privacy and sensitivity
  • Possess basic-level proficiency with WebEx, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Program Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in current semester (Spring 2025)
  • Must enroll in a minimum of one Summer 2025 course
  • Must be returning to Tri-C for Fall 2025 Semester
  • Must have a declared major on record

This position is part of the Cuyahoga Community College Summer Internship Program.
