SIP 2025 - Development Intern (Hybrid) at Front Steps Housing & Services
Front Steps Housing and Services is a non-profit organization dedicated to ending homelessness in Cleveland, Ohio. Front Steps provide a range of services, including housing, case management, and mental health support, to help individuals and families transition out of homelessness and into stable housing.
Note: In-person interviews will be conducted on Feb. 28, 2025, at West and Metro. These interview fairs are your only opportunity to meet and interview with hiring supervisors.
As a Development Intern, you will play a vital role in supporting Front Steps' fundraising and marketing efforts. You will gain hands-on experience in various aspects of development, including social media, donor relations, and event planning.
Responsibilities
- Social Media:
- Create engaging social media content to increase brand awareness and drive donations.
- Monitor and respond to social media comments and messages.
- Track and analyze social media metrics.
- Donor Relations:
- Assist in researching and identifying potential donors.
- Draft thank-you letters and other donor communications.
- Help with donor cultivation and stewardship activities.
- Marketing:
- Assist with the development and execution of marketing campaigns.
- Create marketing materials such as flyers, brochures, and presentations.
- Help with email marketing and other digital marketing initiatives.
- Event Planning:
- Assist with the planning and execution of fundraising events.
- Help with event logistics, including guest lists, invitations, and RSVPs.
- Volunteer at events and help with setup and breakdown.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong interest in non-profit work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram).
- Basic knowledge of marketing and fundraising principles.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Program Requirements
- Must be enrolled in current semester (Spring 2025)
- Must enroll in a minimum of one Summer 2025 course
- Must be returning to Tri-C for Fall 2025 Semester
- Must have a declared major on record
This position is part of the Cuyahoga Community College Summer Internship Program.
