Under the direction of the Manager of Surveying & Mapping, candidates will assist in the scanning and archiving of historical survey records and documents. You will be primarily responsible for organizing, digitizing, and cataloging a variety of historical materials, ensuring the preservation and accessibility of valuable data. Ideal candidates will have a keen interest in history, data management, or the profession of land surveying.
Examples of Duties
- Digitize & archive historical survey plats and notes utilizing different types of scanning technology
- Catalog survey map data into digital indexes
- Manage & improve existing map databases
- *Perform basic field work tasks with survey crews related to mapping/site design

Minimum Qualifications
- Moderately familiar with Microsoft Office products (primarily Excel)
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Interest in history, data management, or engineering & construction industry
- Accountable to be present to work at agreed upon times/dates

Program Requirements
- Must be enrolled in current semester (Spring 2025)
- Must enroll in a minimum of one Summer 2025 course
- Must be returning to Tri-C for Fall 2025 Semester
- Must have a declared major on record
This position is part of the Cuyahoga Community College Summer Internship Program.
