SIP 2025 - Community Recreation Coordinator (West Campus) at Tri-C Athletics, Wellness and Recreation

The Athletics, Wellness, and Community Recreation Department offers wellness and recreation based programs and services to students, faculty/staff, and community members. The department also oversees the college-wide Intercollegiate Athletics program, is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and participates with other two-year colleges from Ohio, Indiana and Michigan. Varsity Athletics at Tri-C include, men’s soccer, women’s volleyball, women’s cross country, women’s indoor and outdoor track and field, men’s baseball, women’s softball, men’s basketball and women’s basketball.

Tri-C houses Recreation Facilities at the Eastern, Metropolitan, and Western Campuses. Classroom space is available for wellness group instruction, workshops and seminars. Specifically at the Western Campus, department indoor facilities include a fitness center, gymnasium, swimming pool, and locker and shower facilities. Outdoor facilities include an all-weather track, 18-hole disc gold course, soccer fields, lighted baseball field and softball field.

Note: In-person interviews will be conducted on Feb. 28, 2025, at West and Metro. These interview fairs are your only opportunity to meet and interview with hiring supervisors.

This internship will provide students experiences with working in a team, developing facility and equipment management skills, effective communication, and customer service. Intern will assist with operations and maintenance of the Recreation Center and Varsity Athletics, including but not limited to the set up and tear down of physical education classes, recreation classes, fitness equipment, and athletic equipment both indoors and outdoors.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends;
  • Must demonstrate outstanding customer service, reliability, effective leadership skills, and strong communication skills;
  • Assist with monitoring and providing assistance to students, faculty/staff, and community members;
  • Must be able to lift and move items between 50-100 lbs.
  • Ability to work within a team;
  • Must be able to work on campus.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Program Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in current semester (Spring 2025)
  • Must enroll in a minimum of one Summer 2025 course
  • Must be returning to Tri-C for Fall 2025 Semester
  • Must have a declared major on record

This position is part of the Cuyahoga Community College Summer Internship Program.
