SIP 2025 - Internal Audit Intern (Off Campus) at City of Cleveland

Note: In-person interviews will be conducted on Feb. 28, 2025, at West and Metro. These interview fairs are your only opportunity to meet and interview with hiring supervisors.

The City of Cleveland’s Bureau of Internal Audit is seeking students currently enrolled in accounting/finance or related business fields to work as interns from approximately May to August 2025. As an Intern, you'll have individual and team assignments. Assignments could include petty cash, inventory, and payroll reviews. You will learn about audit planning and creating work papers within audit management software. Some of attributes important to have or develop include:

  • Ability to think broadly and ask questions about data, facts and other information;
  • Conduct research, analysis and problem solving using a variety of tools and techniques;
  • Handle, manipulate and analyze data and information;
  • Communicate confidently in a clear, concise and articulate manner - verbally and in writing;
  • Uphold the City’s code of ethics and business conduct;
  • Provide support on select projects; demonstrating creative thinking and individual initiative while working as a team member, building relationships with team members;
  • Ability to proactively seek guidance, clarification and feedback; and,
  • Demonstrate flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks.

The Bureau of Internal Audit is seeking interns interested in learning more about the City of Cleveland and its various departments and divisions.

Program Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in current semester (Spring 2025)
  • Must enroll in a minimum of one Summer 2025 course
  • Must be returning to Tri-C for Fall 2025 Semester
  • Must have a declared major on record

This position is part of the Cuyahoga Community College Summer Internship Program.
