SIP 2025 - Intranet Revamp Intern (Off Campus) at From Me 2 U, Inc

From Me 2 U, Inc. (FM2U) is a nonprofit organization founded in 2011 by Lydia Hill, rooted in a dedication to empowering youth, families, and aspiring professionals through comprehensive programs focused on personal growth, skill development, and community engagement. Originally conceived as a response to the closure of a school-based youth prevention program under the Cleveland Department of Public Health, FM2U has grown to offer a diverse range of services that target various age groups, all designed to promote resilience, leadership, and positive life outcomes.

Note: In-person interviews will be conducted on Feb. 28, 2025, at West and Metro. These interview fairs are your only opportunity to meet and interview with hiring supervisors. 

The Intranet Revamp Intern will analyze, design, and implement improvements to the organization’s intranet. The goal is to make the platform more user-friendly, organized, and efficient for staff to access resources, collaborate, and communicate.

This includes updating the user interface, enhancing navigation, and organizing content.

The current intranet has been designed using Google Workspace.

The intranet is the primary tool used to train and house training materials for our interns that support the program services.  It is also the primary tool for uploading personnel information for those contracting with the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Academic Background: Majoring in IT, Computer Science, Business, or Engineering.
    Skills and Experience:
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace tools (Google Sites, Google Drive, Google Sheets, and Google Docs) with experience organizing and managing digital content within this platform.
  • Familiarity with free intranet options or ability to research and propose cost-effective solutions if suitable.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills to enhance the intranet’s user experience by streamlining content and improving accessibility.

Other Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of UX/UI principles, especially in a collaborative and cloud-based environment.
  • Ability to gather user feedback to optimize Google Workspace for streamlined communication and resource access.
  • Attention to detail and capability to manage a Google Workspace-based intranet effectively.

Program Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in current semester (Spring 2025)
  • Must enroll in a minimum of one Summer 2025 course
  • Must be returning to Tri-C for Fall 2025 Semester
  • Must have a declared major on record

This position is part of the Cuyahoga Community College Summer Internship Program.
